As an oleh chadash who made aliyah to Israel three years ago I’m interested in differences in cultures which are important factors in both internal and external changes. A person who
made aliyah has a major dilemma: what will remain from a previous life and what will become part of a new life.
One of the cultural components is everyday fashion. As far as I'm concerned, Israelis have a less significant attitude toward appearance than in the Eastern European culture. People
prefer comfort a lot more and, in most cases, choose to invest in clothes and personal appearance only in case of important events.
This project tells about olot chadashot from the former Soviet Union who invest in their style and elegance as a form of self-expression daily. Perhaps not only is the place supposed to influence them, but they may affect the place and bring their special beauty and elegance to Israeli everyday life.
